Corkerhill is the base for Abellio ScotRail's fleet of Class 156 DMUs, and as of December 2018, Class 158 DMUs. Currently, units are fuelled & cleaned for the next day of service. All A and B exams for the 156 fleet are scheduled to be done here including most of the wheelset/engine and transmission renewals and unscheduled repairs. Some of the EMUs may visit the depot but just for cleaning between duties or overnight stabling.

The depot is located on the Paisley Canal line, which is electrified from Shields Junction to Corkerhill to accommodate the EMUs.
