SPT: Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (formerly Strathclyde Passenger Transport)

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is one of seven regional transport partnership established under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005.

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport took over the roles and functions of the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Authority and Executive.

The functions of the old SPT (setting timetables, fares, routes and quality standards within Strathclyde) have been transferred to the Scottish Government but the new SPT retains responsibility for running the Glasgow Subway and investing in the railways of Strathclyde.
